About the Auxiliary
The Auxiliary of the Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier
Valley, initiated in 2000, has provided financial and volunteer support to
the Southern Alleghenies Museums of Art.
Since the inception of the organization, the Auxiliary has donated
over $42,000 for capital improvements and in support of the Garden Party
Fundraiser. Notable among the capital improvements were the purchase of UV
blinds in order to meet museum standards, the painting of the entire
interior of the Museum as well as needed repairs on the outside of the
property. Also included in the amount above, expenses incurred in the
Annual Holiday Home Tour fundraiser initiated in 2004.
The Auxiliary’s efforts have generated over $53,400 in
fundraising revenue since its inception. The Auxiliary is a group of
individuals dedicated to ensuring that the Ligonier branch, along with the
Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art’s other sites remain a cultural
resource for the community and open to the public free of charge.
We are always looking for and welcoming new members. Yearly dues are
$25.00. The Auxiliary meets monthly at the Museum, located at Rte 711 South
and Boucher Lane in Ligonier, usually at 11 am on the third Thursday
preceding the monthly Lunch a l’Art
which includes a featured speaker.
